DESCRIPTION:In honor of the Ides of March\, the date when Julius Caesar was assassinated in 44 BCE\,  Dr. Brandy Stark is hosting a walking ghost tour. This is a semi-interactive tour that discusses local ghostly lore\, Saint Petersburg history\, and local cultural icons.  She also gives some examples of techniques in paranormal investigation and focuses on places that the SPIRITS team has investigated. \nThis tour is about 4\,000 – 6\,000 steps and includes a walk through of at least one building. Comfortable walking shoes are suggested. If you have portable paranormal equipment such as EMF meters you are welcome to bring it. The theme for this year is the seductive\, powerful and alluring vampire! Kisses\, fangs\, bats and capes – oh my!  \n\nWe are keeping things local with this year’s host\, local actress Carmilina Alford. She recently appeared as Grandma in The Addams Family musical at St. Petersburg City Theater. Besides performing\, she is a collector of the strange and she is a lover of the paranormal.  \n  \n  \n\nThere will also be performances by long-standing Valentwe’en guests\, The Gothic Goddesses from Darjuxena BREWS Darksplay Dance.  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nThe SPIRITS of St. Petersburg will have members available for one on one discussions about the paranormal and we will have our annual tarot card reader set up in studio 208 offering a bit of divination for the upcoming year.  \nThere are two awards for this year’s show. SPIRITS of St. Petersburg member and well known local artist\, Kristi Capone\, will be judging for this year’s Most SPIRITed Award for best interpretation of the theme. Attendees to the reception will select the People’s Choice Award\, based upon popular vote. There will also be a special photo spot to commemorate the holiday.  \nThe opening reception is during the Second Saturday Art Walk on Feb. 11\, from 5 – 9 PM. Free and open to the public.
